Sculptor and Ceramic Artist

Amanda explores the concepts of vulnerability and responsibility. She uses clay and found objects to tell stories and create objects that comment on the state of the world. Her work combines the unique blends of history and geography to create awareness of the environmental and social occurrences experienced in the world: extinction of native species, loss of natural habitat and, human inequality. 

As a multidisciplinary artist, her practice combines ceramic sculpture, installation and performance. She creates art that employs the technique of consciousness raising to create social awareness and begin conversations that enable positive change to occur in contemporary society.

The dress or female costume is a reoccurring motif in Amanda's work. Many of her figurative works are dressed in cultural or period costume and decorated with native flora or historic designs.

Amanda makes her own glazes, her ceramic works are bright and colourful. She deliberately uses colour to gain the attention of the audience who are then drawn in to look more closely at the fine decorative detail of the work.

Amanda is an emerging artist from the Northern Rivers of NSW. She lives in Lennox Head. She has been a finalist in many art prizes. Amanda exhibits locally as well as in Sydney. She completed a Master of Fine Arts Degree at the National Art School in Darlinghurst in 2018.
